Without a well-trained, supported and motivated dental nursing and reception team, we will not be able to deliver high quality outcomes for our patients. The back bone to any dental surgery lies within the dental nurses and receptionists of the practice.
With this recognition, we understand the importance of career development, appraisal and a clear career pathway for our DCP’s. Each practice is supported by a Head Nurse and a Practice Manager as well as a Head Receptionist and Head Dentist. With our Central Clinical Support team consisting of Regional Head Nurses/Receptionists and Area Managers, as well as HR and Clinical Trainers, front line practice staff are supported and listened to continuously.
Our philosophy of lifelong learning has allowed Synergy Dental to offer structured training programmes, Qualification courses and Extended Duties Courses for our DCPs. Our aim is to ensure that no 1 DCP is left isolated and unsupported in any clinic environment. Our commitment to lifelong learning has resulted in many of our DCPs being promoted from Trainee dental nurses all the way through to becoming Clinical Trainers through a supported and structured pathway.

We use a combination of training methods to deliver the training for our DCPs. This includes:

- Hands on training.
- 1 to 1 training as part of our dental nursing buddy programme.
- Group teaching.
- Sponsorships to external training programmes.

Training pathways for DCPs
The pathway below is a representation of how an average DCP would progress through their career at Synergy Dental through Qualification Courses and Extended Duties Courses. The pathway is a guide and not prescriptive. The rate of progression is determined by yourself.
Whatever your career choices, we want to make sure you are supported through career. Having a robust mix of highly trained and experienced clinicians and nurses, within a structured training delivery system, allows our team to help you through your development.
You may decide to take a clinical route or a management route. Many of our existing DCP staff have either developed to become Head Nurses, Practice Managers, Clinical Trainers or have become part of our Central Management Team. We will support you whatever your career choices.
